The first digital camera I owned was a Kodak Mavica that used the 3.5 inch floppy disks.
I don't think they even make floppy disks anymore. As you may imagine this camera was pretty basic. About
the only advantage it had was that it WAS a digital camera.
Needing more functionality and better file quality, I upgraded to a HP 850 point and
shoot camera. This camera had 5.5 MP capability along with expandable memory slots which was a plus
. Once I got this camera I started taking more photos of my daughter
and her many activities.
With this new camera I was able to get a better quality of files and I was
also able to do various print sizes of those photos. After awhile, I realized that I needed to take the next step in
amateur photography and upgrade cameras again.
My next camera was the a Kodak 750, 8 MP camera with a 10x digital zoom. I kept this
camera for a couple of years and really liked it due to the fact the I could also shoot video with it. I ended up getting
a lens teleconverter to get more sports shots of my daughter and her activities. The action shots were outstanding
and friends and family always enjoyed the pictures. This is when I knew I was an avid photographer.
I scoured the internet for more information and for some photography bulletin boards.
After joining a few boards and receiving helpful tips and constructive critisim, I again decided to take the next step.
Move up to an SLR class camera.
So currently I own an Olympus E500, which
falls under the SLR category or Single Lens Reflex. The SLR are considered "professional cameras".
So I started working on technique and subject matter to help improve on the artistic qualities of the photos. My current
equipment bag includes 3 lenses, polirized filters and an external flash. This equipment allows
me take some great shots of nature, sports and portraits. I have yet to delved into the relm of portraits but that
is my next endeavor.
I hope that you have enjoyed the journey through my eyes and hope that you have enjoyed
these photos.
Thanks for dropping by 2J Photos and enjoying the treasures of today.
